Phil Murphy serves as President & Chief Executive Officer of Synergy ECP, where he ensures the company’s people, culture, and technical excellence remain tightly aligned with customer mission success. His leadership philosophy is grounded in a simple principle: when exceptional technical professionals are empowered to thrive, mission outcomes follow.

Phil’s top priorities center on investing in people, strengthening culture, delivering consistent technical excellence, and advancing innovation. He champions training, mentorship, research and development, and prototyping initiatives that expand Synergy ECP’s capabilities across data-driven solutions, cyber, software engineering, and enterprise IT. By maintaining a relentless focus on accountability and execution, he ensures Synergy delivers measurable impact for its national security customers.

Phil began his career as an infrastructure engineer supporting mission-critical environments, gaining firsthand experience delivering on contract and solving complex operational challenges in real time. He later transitioned into business leadership, ultimately leading the Intelligence Business Unit at Applied Insight, where he oversaw more than $120 million in annual revenue and played a key role in the company’s successful acquisition. This journey from engineer to enterprise leader shaped his belief that people and culture are the true differentiators of high-performing organizations.

Grounded by his early technical roots, Phil leads with a “people first, mission always” mindset. He remains focused on purposeful growth scaling Synergy ECP in a way that creates opportunity for employees, strengthens culture, and advances mission outcomes for customers and the nation.

Phil holds a B.S. Information Technology from Stevenson University. Additionally, Phil holds a variety of certifications in Leadership and Cybersecurity.
